I'll massively disagree. Yes, they look retro...but clean retro. I also much prefer the haptics of the Voigtlander lenses to the Loxias...the front aperture ring is easier to change, and the focus ring feels better - the larger knurling is a better grip (especially with gloves).
I'm with you on the awesome look of the Voigtlanders. I recognize that this is a very personal viewpoint and that there is no right and wrong. I tried a Loxia and returned it - nice optics, but very fiddly for me. My favorite lens to 'operate' is an old Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.7 with a knurled focus ring like the Vcs. Ordering my 40/1.2 this week.
