Once a dealer accepts an offer, they are revealed to you. From that point, it's just like you bought directly from them. So yes, you get the invoice as normal.
Just had an offer accepted on Greentoe ($1200 for Batis 135), but the seller was NOT listed. Hopefully that will be revealed sooner or later.

I tried a $2600 a couple of weeks ago and they counter offered $2799.
Their system is just weird. I tried for that same amount but ended up at $2749 for mine. I'm happy with that...but it took me a while to get them down on the lenses I wanted. I did get a battery fairly cheap but for the life of me, cannot get another for that same price. I even called the dealer that I had bought the battery as well as the camera and one lens from and the lady acted like they could sell me another for the same price. Then got transferred to some guy who then transferred me to someone else, and the guy was kinda rude and just said no, it's $79. I said so you can't come down any, even though I got it from greentoe, through you, for cheaper? He said no in a pissed off tone.

It's a city a bit south of NY. I guess my biggest problem with the whole thing is the lack of communication on their end. If Greentoe could figure out how to communicate a little better, this would be a great service. If I order from BH, Adorama, Amazon, ect, I would've gotten an email that the shipment was delayed due to weather. Instead, I get strung along for a week, with no communication, while my bank account is $2800 lighter.
Items also should have to be in stock before a vendor can accept an offer. At least, give you that information going in. Just tell me that X company wants to sell it to you at $Z, but it won't ship for 3 weeks. Y company can ship today, but it costs you $Z+100....Show more →

Greentoe, specifically Andrew at Greentoe, have been very quick to respond to my inquiries regarding order status and other questions. Really happy with the helpful service from their personnel...

When I first signed up for Greentoe, they answered an email almost instantly...they also had chat on and replied to a question about defective returns. I ended up buying 4 items through them, and had sent maybe 1-2 more emails during the purchase of those. For 2 lenses I bought I didn't receive a receipt in the box. I emailed and they said they'd send them...never got them...emailed again....nothing....then emailed once more and they ended up sending only one receipt. I sent 3 more emails over the course of a week and a half and never got another reply. I also had called the store 3 times and they kept saying they'd forward it to whomever but never got the receipt. Called the camera store today and FINALLY got it.

Exactly this. No one ever informed me that the item was on backorder. I'm just buying the Batis 25 elsewhere.

I hope everyone is sending their opinions directly to Greentoe and not just stating it on here. I think the service is great, but agree with a lot of what has been said, however they won't know they should make some changes if no one is telling them.
My direct interactions with them have always been satisfactory including backordered items, when things will be charged, shipped, etc. It has happened for a couple items from a couple different vendors but I have never been left in the dark.
p.8 #7 · If you have used Greentoe to purchase gear....
I finally heard directly from the vendor about my Greentoe-accepted offer on a Batis 135 this morning. I was informed by the vendor that the item is on backorder. When I made the offer I said I was willing to pay more to get the item sooner, but not to wait for the item at the offered price for too long. I would have thought this would have prevented the situation I have now encountered.
Anyway, I didn't want to wait as I wanted the lens (Batis 135) for an upcoming trip (as a light tele) and did not want it to arrive after I'd already departed. I had mixed feelings about whether it was a wise choice or just another GAS episode anyway, so I'm not too disappointed.
It was worth a shot. The vendor was one I've used in the past and respect. So that's good for me and anyone who hasn't used Greentoe to date to know.
Finally, the Batis 135 is available to ship today from B&H at the "regular price", so I may still pull the trigger......

Not exactly Sony equipment related but I have a Greentoe story of interest to the members here. I've previously had very good experiences with Greentoe and they've always been great with communicating with me, even in cases of backorders/returns etc.
I placed an offer for a Tamron 45mm f/1.8 EF from Greentoe about 5 months ago. Got accepted and the lens was delivered.
I then went on a trip immediately afterwards and was real busy with work. Then was using my other lenses very consistently so I didn't look into this one for a long while. So I made a big mistake of not at least taking the lens for a test run right when it arrived, which I usually do. I used to even check the shutter count of Greentoe cameras I've ordered out of paranoia that they were returned or used goods.
So I had a chance to take this lens out last weekend finally and it turns out the lens is very clearly a used return or a demo model. There were several dents around front filter ring area and a number of scratches on the lens cap. Also many fingerprint smudges on the front element. Horrified, I checked the optics of the lens to see if it was damaged internally. Thankfully, it seems like everything is good and things were still sharp. Of course this is beyond the return period now so there's not much I can do, but I figured I'd leave this as a warning story - a used or demo lens is a possibility.
However, this experience definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Retailer was a certain smaller east coast C camera store that I've gotten good products from in the past. But I'll be a lot more cautious now, especially since camera/lens boxes are typically not taped shut. I have found the larger retailers on Greentoe seem to have a more professional operation, sending me full email confirmations and such.

I keep seeing used a7riii's for sale (and sold) for higher than what I paid through Greentoe - so if anyone is looking to get an a7riii, I was able to get it for $2,700 a month ago. There is a chance it might go a little lower now, but I would assume you could at least still get that deal.
No luck with that. Tried 3 times so far and lowest bid about 2900. If price is close to retail anyway, buying direct from trusted vender is worth something. Have used GT and usually from stores I know, but am more nervous with something this expensive.

Interesting. You could always reply to the email telling them you heard someone was able to get it for $2,700 and see if they can match that again. I have no clue what triggers they use for what deals, but I did this before and was able to get a better deal. I can understand this is not for everyone though.

I did find out that there was some kind of Sony rebate allowing retailers to sell at that 2700 level. I did not see the Sony rebate posted anywhere. Those prices are no longer available for now.

But this really has noting to do with GT. If you had purchased the lens from any retailer and let it sit for a month or whatever and then finally took it out of the box, the same thing could have happened as well.
I once purchased a new lens from B&H Photo and discovered that it was at least a mint used lens, not brand new. Maybe a return or a demo. In my case, it wasn't damaged, but I was a bit peeved about paying a new price for essentially a used lens.
This one is on you. You didn't check it within the return window.

Michael. The rebate was the trade-in program that Sony had going. "trade in any working camera or lens, and get 200-300$ off, plus the trade in value". That's how I got the A7riii for 2750$ around January or so. (through greentoe).

After using my a7iii for a few weeks and having inconsistent Eye-AF performance, it appears the a7Riii is more reliable. Anyone buy lately to have a going rate?

Fair enough. I have an RX100V coming on Thursday from GT, first big purchase in a few months. Got it for $850. Will check it carefully in case they gave me a return.
Also, the price dropped by $50 since I ordered. Anyone have any luck with price adjustments?

I offered a seller from this site $2400, including shipping and PayPal fee, for their A7R III. They declined. So I put in an offer for that on Greentoe. I got a $2600 counter-offer a few minutes later. I didn't reply, and started searching eBay - and saw gray market new ones for $2380 and $2430. While I was pondering that vs $2600, I got a notice that my $2400 was accepted (for new USA warranty with free shipping and no fees). This was over the weekend. It was shipped today, and I get it on Wed.

From their FAQ: "Please note that orders can take up to 2 business days to ship out. Offers accepted over the weekend will ship on Monday/Tuesday."
Vendors are not allowed to accept orders for items that they do not have and can't ship. If they do, I would file a complaint.
