Welcome back Jody! Most of the whippersnappers these days would tell you that you couldn't have shot these with "old tech" bodies like the 1DmkIIn and 1DmkIII.
These old images are a testament to the fact that the most important factor is the person behind the camera and I am sure you will make the 1DxII sing as well.

good to have you back mr. melanson. you were are an inspiration. i can remember back in the day saying to myself damned he's good. i studied your work seeking to improve my own. and said, when i grow up i want to be like jody melanson.
when i first started macro you made a comment to me, "that is harsh lighting". me what do you mean harsh lighting, i don't understand? i will never forget that you took the time to explain it to me and nudged me down the path of macro photography.
that was then and this is now. welcome back mr. melanson.

The 1DXII is amazing, had it out for a spin yesterday. Will post.
The master returns and with a bang....just brilliant and I think I recall a number of these but can't ever get too much....will be waiting impatiently to see what magic appears from you.
