#5 is a classic, but #2 is unique for the angle and the way it shows the plumage.
Barn owls are exceedingly rare in Canada and are almost gone out here. Great find and enjoy it while you can.
It's almost worth a trip.

I think Barn Owls are the most beautiful owls Geoff, and you did very well showing it. 2 and 4 stand out ~ Ron

What a beautiful owl Geoff. I've only seen one in the wild once along a highway, I was pretty young and not taking pictures at the time but I noticed it perched in a tree with some snow falling and I went an exit past it turned around so I could drive by it again and again and again.................I am most envious of your opportunity here, thanks for bringing back a good memory of my first sighting
#4 for me but they all are truly wonderful!

I love the fact that you chronicled the entire hunt with a happy ending for the owl, not so much for the vole.
#3 and #4 are special for me, thanks for sharing.

Magnificent. So nice that he comes out when there is enough light to shoot. The ones near me refuse to come out until well after dark.

Thanks for sharing this great set! While all are shots I would be thrilled to get myself, the first couple with the backlit wings are my faves.
Thanks Jonathan. I find backlit owl shots to be one of the best type of backlit shots out there. I actually prefer to shoot them backlit.
