Best of luck on getting a super deal. Like Don, I got mine years ago. Mint, with case and caps, no box unfortunately. $6,000 on eBay from a Swiss grntleman visiting in the USA. I drove up to San Jose to pick it up. I use it a lot. Share the serial number with us. Mine is an early AIS SN 175918.

I also have the Voightlandsr 12mm f/5.6, the AF-Nikkor 14mm f/2.8 and those lenses are quite ooor compared to the 13mm. The 13mm is truly one of the best lenses ever produced by Nikon. The 14mm Nikkor lacks sharpness in the corners and looks quite poor next to the 13mm. The 12mm Voight. Has significant light fall off, to the point you truly need a reverse vignette filter to compensate for fall off in the corners.

I can’t see any reason to buy one from a photographic perspective
I'm not sure what I will do with it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. I don't think many people who buy this lens today would be buying it solely to use. Still, it would be a shame not to try it if I own it, hence the wondering out loud if I should buy a Nikon body. I could buy an inexpensive adapter to use it on my GFX. I'd love to know how big the image circle is and how well it would cover the GFX sensor; but, I doubt I will do that because of the small but real risk it could get stuck to the adapter.

I'll share the serial number and photos when it arrives tomorrow via overnight shipping. Still waiting for the B&H shipping confirmation. Hopefully it's not being passed around in the office during lunchtime before it ships out

Well.......duh. It clearly makes no photographic sense at this point. Completely not the point.

This lens with its disproportionate appearance reminds me ever so slightly of an "augmented" porn star breast. Like one, it's totally impractical, but who wouldn't want to handle one at least once in his life.
I remember Ken Rockwell gushing about this lens - he still seems to have relapses whenever one of these pops up on EBay - and it was one of the reminders of everything about that guy being so comedic and overblown. After the Canon 11-24 had been released, Ken has apparently eased up on the Nikon13 kool-aid though - I think the L was the first mega-wide lens that he deigned to acknowledge as being "professional".
I was about to say something about trying this lens on a GFX, but the OP beat me to it, of course.

It shipped via overnight yesterday, and I got a UPS email alert to expect a package today, but the UPS tracking information this morning shows it is still awaiting pickup. But – this has happened before, and the package still arrived overnight – I guess they have glitches in their tracking system sometimes. I'll have to wait and see. Might come today, might come Monday.

I’m sure that it will arrive safe and sound. B&H is a super company and they don’t play games.
It’s still my favorite MF NIKKOR and I have literally dozens of Nikkor lenses, both MF and AF. It’s sharpness is so good that you can literally use it as your only lens, and if used in a high MG pixel imager camera, keep blowing the image up with no issues. The only detractor in the lens are the dated coatings. Sadly, that’s something that little can be done sbout. With digital images, however, during composition you can position the purple flare into less color mlex parts of the image and later clone them out.
If the case that you receive is in excellent condition I highly recommend that you buy an extra CL-74 and put the original away.

What body did you get to shoot it on?
Not gonna lie, I am sort of jealous. I remeber reading about this years back.
I’d love to shoot one but no way my cheap ass would buy one hahahha
I still haven't decided what to do with it – shoot it and keep it, keep it and not shoot it, or sell it. As for shooting it – I can't decide between getting an F adapter for the GFX or a Nikon body (used Df or refurb D810).
If I put it on the GFX it would be the 35mm format equivalent of 10.3mm rectilinear field of view! I would have to think the image circle on this lens is really large, but there's no way to tell what kind of vignetting it might have on the GFX, either from the lens image circle, the built-in hood, or both.
