You were gifted such nice light Morris and took good advantage of it. I like the wing position you captured, very nice look to the eye, this is a winner!

Beauty, Morris! It's always nice to get a snowy BIF! Keep them coming.

Thank you Gene,
Yes, though frequently it means someone has spooked it. That was not the case for this one

Looks sharp. I just "motor" with birds in flight. I love the sorting process. I think a friend of ours is the ultimate in motoring!
Have a nice Xmas, and don't eat toooooo much turkey.
Nice eye BTW.
Don
P.S. Where are those posts?
Thank you Don,
Our friend came home with about 3 times as many images as me and some are beauties. One looks just like this one and it's interesting as he was closer with a shorter lens. The posts are in a hidden layer :-}. There was one post behind the far wing third feather in and a real PITA to remove. The other was in the upper left and gone in a blink.

Nice light angle on this guy Morris! If it was mine I would get rid of the dark grass stalk intersecting the bird from below. I'll admit to being a little jealous of the opportunity!
Thank you Mike,
I like that the grass lead to the bird and add environment so a good compromise would be to make it shorter. I get to see them all winter and after a while need other subjects. I hope you get to see one.

Beautiful work Morris and I appreciate reading of your technique. I definitely agree with you about the inclusion of the terrain and the water behind it in this one is especially complimentary I think.
Did you consider cloning out the two seedheads toward the rear of the owl? I think it might add value to the image, but I can also appreciate they add a little balance compositionally.
Either way, it's a gorgeous shot!
Thanks for posting.

Thank you Kim,
I like them there as they lead to the subject and add more environment. A compromise would be to make the one that touches the owl a bit shorter

Beautiful shot Morris. The colors really make this shot. I applaud your patience. When I see some action I just smash that shutter button and don't let go till I come up for air )

Thank you Grandpa,
The light and color was super that morning.
I really like this shot Morris. The light looks very natural, especially for that beach area. I totally agree with your shutter method. I never did subscribe to the " spray and pray " method. I think when you're a little more thoughtful regarding your trigger finger, you get more quality shots.
