They have to have a serial number and bill of sale to provide service.
That would be the case if the OP was asking Sirui USA (the USA distributor/not the manufacturer) for free replacement of defective parts under warranty. If the OP is simply looking to purchase replacement shims, this should not be an issue. It would be nobody's business but the OP's, as to where and how he received his tripod.
I routinely buy Gitzo parts and accessories from GitzoSpares.com in the U.K., and not once has anyone intervened to ask where, or how, I received my tripods. They don't ask me for a serial number,,, nor even a model name or number of the four Gitzo tripods I own. I don't speak with another human, period.
I go to the site,,,enter a model number in a search window,,hit "enter",,, and they show me an exploded diagram for whatever tripod I'm looking into. The parts are all individualy identified and numbered, as well as the price. I pay the bill,,,they send the goods, and 2 days later, FedEx knocks at my door with the package.
The OP should be able to go to any Sirui dealer, and order the parts he needs. He's paying for those parts,,, not Sirui USA,,,
