Well Guy, I'm in much the same boat as you. My camera did ship but UPS has it listed for 2nd day air to arrive end of day Monday. I guess they don't work Saturdays. I paid for 1 day saver but no one can seem to change it at B&H or UPS. Guess what, I leave Monday morning for the balance of the week so I'm screwed.
Again, I only have these issues with UPS . . .
There may be hope, Bob. I ordered a Batis on Thanksgiving from Adorama, they shipped it on Friday (ground shipping service) scheduled for Monday delivery, the UPS guy showed up on my door on Saturday evening with the lens.

I feel bad if I get my camera before you, Guy, since I just ordered 4 hours ago while you pre-ordered from day/hour #1. Seem like Bestbuy is going to ship mine overnight today soon. Amazon customer services get worse every day. It's always very hard to find out a number to call and talk to them directly on the phone.
I have to disagree with you on the contact point.
Amazon is one of the few customers I am aware of that will contact you by YOUR preferred method. It is a bit convoluted to get to that stage (mostly because they want you to select your order and identify the problem you are having).
From the home page scroll to the bottom of the page, click Help (under "Let us Help You").
Then click "Need More Help" and Contact Us. On the next screen, select the order and pick the issue from the drop down menu, then (finally) you get the "Contact Us" menu and you can select email/phone/chat.
If you click phone it is pre-populated with the phone number in your profile and you can select call me now or call me in 5 minutes.
Whenever I click "call me now" I get a phone call right away.

OK, maybe UPS does suck:
"A late flight has caused a delay. We will update the delivery date as soon as possible. / Your delivery has been rescheduled for the next business day"
At least the Olympus Pro lenses are plenty sharp and plenty bright (600mm Equiv at f/4). And the Sony sensor in the EM1.2 is just about as noise free as the Sony A6300, from my experience (actually, from my testing, it seems to be a little better than the APS-C Sony sensor for some reason). And the Olympus stuff is pretty water resistant (there are images online of people hosing off their EM1.2 cameras, with not bad affects). Dark, wet Costa Rica, here I come!

I frequently use the local FedEx pack n ship center when I don't want to be tied down waiting for a "signature required" delivery. Living in a rural area our deliveries tend to come late afternoon, but our local FedEx pack n ship center generally has the package available for pickup by 10am.
Looks like my package is still sitting in the B&H warehouse. Last night UPS sent me an email saying it would be delivered today, but this morning I received a second email saying it was delayed and delivered tomorrow.

Looks like the A7RIII I ordered will arrive tomorrow. cool. I ordered it about a week and a half ago.
I checked to see if they had any more (I was on a list) for you Guy but they have the list they are working through and have been getting just a few at a time.

Well, my Best Buy order that I decided to place on a whim at 9:30am this morning just shipped via overnight shipping and is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Definitely didn't expect that to happen.

Bah! I pre-ordered from a local shop (3rd person in queue) and the store only received two bodies. The second person in queue ordered two. So the first person received theirs and the second person only had half of his pre-order fulfilled. Now I'm left wondering if I should just check the local Best Buy if they have one in stock and get my money back from the original pre-order. Hmm...

Although my Best Buy order status still shows "Preparing" on the website, I just called the help line and went through the menus for an order status update. The automated message on the help line said "Your order is ready and waiting to be picked up by the shipping carrier. We will update you by e-mail when that occurs. Your get-it-by date is December 1st."
Let's see how accurate that really turns out be.
Me too, I just received an email from Bestbuy saying my order was shipped, so I hope I will have it tomorrow as promised.

Sort of fascinates me why stores don't seem to get an exact count of cameras they will receive. Maybe that's the norm (I usually don't follow camera releases on release day/pre-orders) but I don't see why that's the case. I too have a pre-order and am slated for the second batch of cameras a store expects to receive, and they also cannot give me an exact date but said in about two weeks they expect more. There is also a chance I am not high enough in the queue for that second batch. It is frustrating, and a little perplexing.

I'm sure UPS is a mess....it's unfortunate they released it during one of the busiest shipping days of the year...
For the record, I got a tracking # from B&H, but it doesn't appear to have been picked up yet. That's fine, I didn't select overnight shipping anyways, and figured it'd be next week before I got it.

Manufacturing bottlenecks. Sony doesn't typically have supply shortages for new releases...the only one I can think of in recent memory is the 70-200GM. It seems they underestimated demand for the a7rIII and didn't schedule enough production.

Playing with mine.
This is my first Sony so pls excuse me...
The shutter sound is loud. Mechanical shutter sounds like two distinct thuds which makes you think oh, did i do a slow shutter speed?? Even DSLRs don’t sound like that.
First curtain is one sound, loud, but better.
Build: a chunk of metal
Design: a bit clunky. Not a looker at all. My EM1.2 is a looker and smooth lines etc.
My first lens happened to be 28 FE. Getting 55 tomorrow. Have placed an order for CV 40.
Will add 15, 21 and 85 later.
And i am excited like a kid

Finally got rescheduled delivery update from UPS - 3-7pm tomorrow. Sadly I'll be in South America by then. It looks like UPS has the package in their hands at least (has Origin Scan status).

I read somewhere that Sony’s come with Capture One in the box. I didn’t get that.
Got a free 300mb/s 64gb card, a hdmi cable and a cheap camera bag as freebies.

May I ask was the 64Gb card included by Sony in every box or by the retailer? Thanks

Two sounds is normal in a mirrorless... consider that the sensor is not covered by the curtain so you can see the scene by the EVF or screen... first the curtain has to come down... gets out of the way... exposure starts... gets down... exposure stops... gets out of the way again so the EVF or screen can start showing action...
Using first curtain electronic shutter it gets rid of the first two steps
