I placed my order at Bestbuy this morning around 7am and it's being processed now. One-day shipping so I will receive it tomorrow. I never pre-ordered anything because I hate waiting ;-). Wow, finally I updated from A7II. A lot of learning curve.

Just ordered from Best Buy as well this morning with one-day shipping and an arrival date of 12/1. My card decided to auto-flag the purchase under fraud protection, which was, of course, a false positive, so I had to clean up that whole mess before the order finally went through.

I'm glad that it worked out for you. People said that Bestbuy is very good at having products in-stock on releasing day and I think they are right. I checked Bestbuy couple times a day in last several days. Big guys like Amazon, BH... still "new item-comming soon" now.

Happy to say B&H has shipped mine and should be delivered by tomorrow. Long as UPS does not mess up. Going from back ordered 5 weeks ago to processing a couple of weeks ago and not knowing if I would make the first batch, "shipped" sure sounds good and is a relief. Wish "processing" meant they were charging the battery for me. Guess its going to be one of those hurry up and wait things.

I'm still not entirely positive that they actually have the product in stock and ready to ship. Wouldn't be surprised if it was just their automated system saying that. However, they did charge my credit card instantly upon ordering, and most retailers wont charge your card until they have it in stock and ready to ship. If it doesn't update with a tracking number by later this evening, then I'll just cancel.
EDIT: Order status just changed from "Processing" to "Preparing". Appears to be a good sign.

It was about 6 hours behind the other day on a shipment from NY. The system right now you can’t go by. I still have zilltch from Amazon. 4 chats and I still have nothing. Seriously I’m never pre-ordering again. Usually I never do but buy on the spot as there is always someplace that has it. I was stupid this time. I could have just gone local as I paid tax anyway. I’m so freaking pissed off right now. I should have known better being around Black Friday.

Try Best Buy. See my posts above, it appears they may still have stock through their website. You can get it by 12/1 with $23 next day shipping. You can also easily cancel Amazon orders.

They are good about helping out with stuff like that. I'd be willing to bet you can get them to refund all of that via chat or phone.
For instance, what happens if you were to return the camera to them under their return policy? You wouldn't lose your gift card funds. The amount would be refunded. Your gift card funds don't forever disappear into the ether when you use them, even if the transaction isn't successful. They are treated by Amazon the same way as other tangible funds, such as CC or bank account.

Yea I could, I’m leaving in the morning though so if it’s not today than I’m screwed anyway till Monday. I have a backup A7rII for the two jobs I have. I just wanted for this trip. It still is saying by 8pm and I bet it will , I’m just frustrated with no confirmation

I'm in the same boat. I only pre-ordered for a chance to get it for my trip and I usually have been pretty happy with B&H. They handled my past camera situations really well so I wanted to get next camera from them (tax wasn't an issue). Now the camera will arrive few hours after I leave the country, and will either need to be returned to sender or I have someone else sign for it, and I won't be back home until after Christmas. Pre-orders seem to be a hit or miss, especially, as you said, around Black Friday. But I'm not sure there is much excuse for B&H not releasing cameras scheduled for 1 day delivery on time. They knew amount of pre-orders placed and how many were ordered for 1 day delivery, had cameras on hand, and knew when to start shipping, so they should have been ready days in advance - hell they should have had labels printed a day before and just have UPS pickup in the morning on 29th. I'm glad I had Lens Rentals drop off A7R2 for me as a backup, so I'll go with that.

I'm happy to report that B&H has emailed me that my camera has shipped and sent me a tracking number! I don't think I ordered overnight or two day shipping though, so it may take a few days. This is the first time pre-ordered a new camera and feel like a little kid again
Now I'm wondering if Capture One or the latest Lightroom can process these new files yet?

Is a UPS distribution center close by you can hold and pick up early in the morning. If done that in the past
