This is the first time I have seen anyone openly admit they are cooking the raw data. Now using 16 bit processing. That is probably what they did to claim 15 stops of DR from the same sensor.

I don't use the Sony smart remote app often, but the times that I did, I remember thinking it has improved a lot and was a life saver! Being able to use my phone with a screen to shoot is so much better than a button remote!
Also the touchless shutter app was awesome for long exposures when I didn't want to disturb the camera and introduce camera shake. I wish they'd keep it or at least integrate it into the menu to preserve the functionality!

Has Sony ever had new cameras back ordered like the d850 is? I didn't order the a7rii on release so I don't remember. I know they didn't with the a9, but that obviously won't sell as much as this.
Just wondering since it took me a good 5 minutes instead of 1 like some of you =)

Couple of questions about Pixel Shift if possible.
1) Do you get a raw file once these files are combined?
2) Can the technology be used with flash lighting? (we use Profoto D1's which have <1% variation between frames from our testing).
I run a repro studio and a camera like this could be a far more budget friendly solution for very high resolution capture than the 100mp MFDB solution we were looking at (fantasising over ). Even with the lenses it will require to maximise the potential. No it won't be as good, possibly not even close but yes it might happen at that price rather than a Phase One iXG. Don't we love the bean counters.

Is a medium raw option something that is difficult to implement? Just seems like another one of those many things that would be nice and shouldn't be too difficult to do but Sony just seems to not care.
