A fool and his money are soon parted. Who in their right mind would spend 1k on this manual focus lens with all its flaws, and then con themselves into thinking its good....?

I guess I am a fool then as I bought this lens and really like it for a variety of subjects!

I'm pretty sure Lucida is just being sarcastic guys. She's into lenses with character and it's likely the CV 40/1.2 will appeal to her.
Agree . She loves character. Of course she is one. Meant as a compliment. Actually truth be told I absolutely love her spirit for photography. Better yet she’s damn good at it too.
Good to hear, but not knowing Lucinda there was nothing in her post to give a clue that she was not being serious—particularly Since it immediately followed infinity test images.

Well, I'm glad that I had to get up early today to go skiing (no, the 40/1.2 did not come along - skiing is a m43 thing . . .) AND that several people pointed out that Lucinda's post was sarcastic and preemptively self deprecating.
I was going to list several of my flawed lenses that I've talked myself into keeping and use on a regular basis.
But she does bring up a good point about talking ourselves into accepting our own purchases - that I have to be aware of constantly. Thus I have the 1 year rule - no matter what kind of special photo gear I have - if I have not used it significantly over a years time it goes out the door.
Though I'm much much happier with the infinity performance I still need to work with the 40/1.2 at much closer distances for candids to be completely sold. I've taken a few of such images in the last couple of days and so far I think I'm getting what I want out of this lens. Do I wish it were sharper wide open up close? - Yes I do. Does it make nice images anyways? Yes, so far it does.
Unfortunately I can't share those images, though I'll see what I can do with a few of them.
Love the Nokton! Here's a selection of shots, mostly wide open, with a few at f1.6 and f2 on the 7r3. Processed in C1, minimal colour adjustments, default sharpening with some images cropped and vignetting applied. I don't recall doing anything in PS. From the fantastic Guillermo del Toro exhibit in Toronto; the figures are life size. I hope the photos are posted in an acceptable manner, this is new to me at FM.
