Well, I'm glad that I had to get up early today to go skiing (no, the 40/1.2 did not come along - skiing is a m43 thing . . .) AND that several people pointed out that Luvwine's post was sarcastic and preemptively self deprecating.
I was going to list several of my flawed lenses that I've talked myself into keeping and use on a regular basis.
But she does bring up a good point about talking ourselves into accepting our own purchases - that I have to be aware of constantly. Thus I have the 1 year rule - no matter what kind of special photo gear I have - if I have not used it significantly over a years time it goes out the door.
Though I'm much much happier with the infinity performance I still need to work with the 40/1.2 at much closer distances for candids to be completely sold. I've taken a few of such images in the last couple of days and so far I think I'm getting what I want out of this lens. Do I wish it were sharper wide open up close? - Yes I do. Does it make nice images anyways? Yes, so far it does.
Unfortunately I can't share those images, though I'll see what I can do with a few of them.
