It's second time I looked through fantastic images on this page and this time I will add FF system basically for this lens alone. Maybe I will sell my Fuji kit with 35 f1.4 and 56 f1.2. Those two lenses have also special rendering for me but this 40 f1.2 is in another class.
I'm looking to use this lens specifically with Techart AF adapter as during travel with my two running kids manual focus is a no go for me. Question to M mount users of this lens. How does it behave on A7C II sensor ? Do you notice much problems with corners ? I would use it mostly for travel, street, family portraits, landscapes and some nature closeups. Kolari mod is out of question for me as well unfortunately.
Second option would be Nikon Zr but I am afraid that combo would be too big and too heavy for me.

I can't help you unfortunately as I went with the e-mount (SE) version of the 40/1.2 but I also find myself wishing I had the m-mount for the flexibility so I'll be curious about the results of VM on Sony (in-use as opposed to test charts). 40/1.2 SE is a very good balance on the a7cii btw.
And I also have the 56mm f1.2 and 35mm f1.4 for Fuji. Can't bring myself to sell them but I'm frequently tempted to sell the extra fuji cameras and just leave one.
And I also () am still thinking about the ZF (as recently as yesterday) but just put off by the size and weight, I know the a7cii is likely a better fit for me just due to that but I can imagine liking the ZF as a camera more.
I just hope the A7c3 improves on the things we would obviously want regarding viewfinder and focus assists without further increasing size, especially thickness. A little bit of extra height is okay with me, especially if they integrate an arca swiss mount on the bottom which will probably never happen.

I use the VM version of the lens with the Techart adapter. My use cases are usually shooting wide open or close to it, in which case I don't care about the corners much. There is a little bit more aberration in the corners with the VM version on FE, but it's not that noticeable. Stopped down to landscape apertures, I never noticed a difference. But honestly, I'm not super critical of corners or pixel peeping. The thing I notice with the TAP is that it forces me to focus more centrally in the image, so I end up cropping/recomposing more with this combination than I probably would otherwise.

I feel the pain on the Fuji. Every time I want to sell this system I revisit photos taken with those two lenses and I can't let them go. I sold many FF systems already but always back to Fuji. Maybe Voigtlanders, especially this 40 f1.2 will change that.
I meant Zr. Zf would totally be too big for me and I don't use EVFs anymore nowadays. I got used to using LCD and I love bodies without EVF hump in the middle. As for A7C III they will probably put A7V sensor inside of A7C II and that's it, but would be great if they could improve EVF and LCD

Thanks a lot. It seems it will suit me well then. I am not a pixel peeper. Well maybe sometimes but I never check corners. I was wondering if it's something visible without pixel peeping. Aberrations don't bother me, my Fuji glass have plenty of those yet I love images they produce.
Focusing in the center and framing in post is something I have done with my old Fuji bodies due to weak AF system so I guess I can cope with that for this particular lens
In summer, you can't stop for a minute on this road; the stream of tourist cars is like a city highway.
But then comes that magical time when you can savor the solitude.
Just a little bit more and the road will be closed, covered in snow, and accessible only by snowmobile. Khibiny.

So what are the opinions on purple and green fringing from those who have been using this lens for a while? Avoidable? Tolerable? Correctable? Does the otherwise good performance compensate for the fact that it's an issue? In short, are you happy with the lens overall?
Sorry for a late reply. Based on my experience purple and green fringing are for the most part avoidable. I shoot only JPEG and do not correct for fringing in my images. I invite you to view the dedicated album I created for my 40/1.2 Nokton photos. I notice some negligible fringing in a series of photos of a Ford Thunderbird where I detect purple fringing on a distant flood light post.
Have a look at the photos and judge for yourself.

took the 40/1.2 out tonight. Normally I like shooting at night with my M11M or Q3M, but the 40/1.2 is a light machine so I stuck it on the M11P
I can see you're really enjoying the 40/1.2 Nokton!
If you want to tame the axial CA in your images, here's a Lightroom preset I created for myself. Whenever I shoot with the 40/1.2, I apply this first and it knocks out most of the magenta/green fringing right away:
