It's second time I looked through fantastic images on this page and this time I will add FF system basically for this lens alone. Maybe I will sell my Fuji kit with 35 f1.4 and 56 f1.2. Those two lenses have also special rendering for me but this 40 f1.2 is in another class.
I'm looking to use this lens specifically with Techart AF adapter as during travel with my two running kids manual focus is a no go for me. Question to M mount users of this lens. How does it behave on A7C II sensor ? Do you notice much problems with corners ? I would use it mostly for travel, street, family portraits, landscapes and some nature closeups. Kolari mod is out of question for me as well unfortunately.
Second option would be Nikon Zr but I am afraid that combo would be too big and too heavy for me.
I can't help you unfortunately as I went with the e-mount (SE) version of the 40/1.2 but I also find myself wishing I had the m-mount for the flexibility so I'll be curious about the results of VM on Sony (in-use as opposed to test charts). 40/1.2 SE is a very good balance on the a7cii btw.
And I also have the 56mm f1.2 and 35mm f1.4 for Fuji. Can't bring myself to sell them but I'm frequently tempted to sell the extra fuji cameras and just leave one.
And I also () am still thinking about the ZF (as recently as yesterday) but just put off by the size and weight, I know the a7cii is likely a better fit for me just due to that but I can imagine liking the ZF as a camera more.
I just hope the A7c3 improves on the things we would obviously want regarding viewfinder and focus assists without further increasing size, especially thickness. A little bit of extra height is okay with me, especially if they integrate an arca swiss mount on the bottom which will probably never happen.
