Flamenco Beach is one of the most stunning beaches in the world. Jealous you were there! Haven't been back there in a decade.
Yes, Flamenco Beach is absolutely stunning. My wife and I got married at a place overlooking the beach with the best views I can imagine. It is a special place for us.
Wonderful! This lens really shines as a dual-purpose tool. I've used it in Yosemite a couple of times, and it impressed me both wide open for subject isolation and stopped down around f/5.6–f/8 for landscapes. A great mix of versatility and character. The cherry on top is the beautiful, well-defined sunstars like in your image.

Thank you Fred! That`s the reason I repurchased it. Now even smaller/lighter in SE format (although I liked the old version better for handling). Amazing lens.
Hi together,
thank you for making me aware of this nice lens! I received my used copy a few days ago and like the results a lot.
I think the supplied hood is useful and unobtrusive and I plan to leave it on all the time. The painted aluminium would soon collect scratches and dings, so I designed a protection ring that covers the front area. Things like this are easy to model and 3D-print and I have uploaded the model to Thingiverse to everybodys benefit. If you find it useful for your application you could have a look for someone who can print it out for you. My print was a bit uneven on the mating surface and I had to even it out a little by scraping with a cutter and have then mounted it in warm condition.
Here is the link to Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7125963
This is how the Camera and lens look with the protective ring:
We arrived at the lake in the evening, the sun was in the clouds.
But then the clouds parted and the sunset light poured out...
And everything sparkled with colors.

It's a subjective guess. Not a quantitative measurement or evaluation.
Actually, it's not just a guess. It comes from comparing it with other 40mm lenses, and mainly from the fact that the CV 40mm f/1.2's angle of view of 55° corresponds to a focal length closer to 41.7mm.
Along the same lines, the CV 50mm f/1.2 Nokton is really more like a 49mm lens, which is pretty close to 50mm. The key point is that the difference between the 40mm and 50mm is about 7mm, not a full 10mm.

I went from the E mount version to VM to use the Techart adapter. I don't really notice any image quality difference in daily use. The upgrade to AF is totally worth the slight difference in corner bokeh quality in some shots. It's only something you might notice occasionally. Stopped down, I can't see a difference at all.
I've been enjoying your Hawaii pictures!
I do the same! I often use the Voigtlander 40/1.2 M-mount on the Techart EA9 with my A7CR, but mine's been Kolari thin-sensor modded. That way I avoid the weird rendering you get on the stock Sony stack, where field curvature bends outward and corners can look in focus when they should be blurred. Sharpness isn't the issue...it's the exaggerated field curvature and added corner astigmatism. The Kolari mod fully fixes it.
