The top two-thirds of this quick little image was made by a Dallas artist—Manuel Pecina, known professionally as "Ant Colony."
I was a little late to this party, so I don't know what people might have ingested before my arrtival, but the "fuzzy" gentleman in the bottom center had just explained to me he nearly always chooses to be near any cute ass labelled "13."
Not pretending the image is deathless, but I am very fond of this lens.
Best to all.

After having the 40/1.2 and posting images here from 2018 to 2023, I’m sad I won’t be able to help get this thread to 300 pages: I recently bought the 35/1.2!
Is there a fair amount of sample variation with this lens? I ordered one for the zf.
I had gotten two copies of the CV 50 f/1 and one of them was noticeably sharper than the other. Just wondering if I should do the same with the 40 1.2.

Just use your copy. The mother of unhappiness is comparison. Just my 2 cents.
The mystery of when and why LoCA appears adds a little frisson to the images. Smaller apertures enlarge the in focus region and remove edge of focus LoCA, it seems. LoCA got a bit of chat back here, in 2017 - how time flies:
(The page had some humor too:
'Phillip Reeve wrote: 'You should really update your logo, six aperture blades are so 70s'
'Kind of like the hairstyle of the guy in your avatar...')
