I just can't understand why anyone wouldn't have a Voigtlander 40/1.2. Compact, fast, sharp, colorful, contrasty, natural perspective, quality design and construction. I have a bunch of nice lenses, but every time I leave the house without the 40 I feel a little guilty.
Fifty years from now (if there is a fifty years from now) people will still be talking about it.
I had a 40 1.2 and liked it a lot. Had a Voight 50 1.2 for a time as well. I have a 50GM 1.2 now, and it is not practical to have either of them now, outside of smaller body size. Does the 40 have a charm, yes, but more charm that the 50GM, probably not. I get it is a different look. I did like the 40 better than the 50 1.2 Voight.
The local camera club had an activity two weeks ago where we could practice taking portraits (with a slight Halloween theme). It was the first time for me.
