I purchased this lens at launch, but sold it some time ago. Borrowed one from a buddy for the weekend. I still think this and the 28/2ii are CV's best lenses.
This thread keeps reminding me I need to buy this lens. I sold the wacky 40mm 1.4 MC since I figured I'd get the 40mm 1.2.
Still can't decide which version to go with. Probably the native Sony SE version. Although, the M mount version is cheaper and smaller...plus could throw on Z mount if I pick up a Nikon.

Here are a couple pictures of the VM and original E-mount version side-by-side to demonstrate the physical difference. I've had the original for 4+ years now, but I do have an old film Leica I can use the VM version on from time to time, and the Techart adapter is a fun new way to shoot this lens on a Sony. I'd say if you just intend to use the lens on a Sony and are fine with MF, the E-mount version with EXIF and focus aid is the way to go though.
Anyone know if the 'SE' version of this lens is absolutely the same optically as the original? Researching on the web I did see a mention of "internal revisions" contributing to the lower weight. (Apologies for not reading through all 273 pages of this thread so I may have missed it if already discussed.)
Thanks

Add the CV 75/1.5 and there's a really nice CV Trinity.

Too large for that trinity for me—the 21/1.4 - 35/1.2iii - 75/1.5 belong. I have been waiting for the refresh of the 75/2.5 refresh. Hopefully they bump it up to 75/2.

Nice to know I'm not the only one hoping for a 75mm 2.5 refresh.
I visited NY twice in October, once for work and once for play. I tried to to do some street shooting from the hip using a zone focusing method, and it was pretty engaging, albeit difficult. It’s funny how I was drawn towards peoples clothes, I can definitely see this as a trend.
1 is my favorite composition, trying to get the lady in black in the middle of the colorful outfits, but missed focus badly. 2 is uncanny even if it is a bit boring / too zoomed in. 3 was unintentional similarities between the hostess and dude. 4 nailed focus , I was excited about that.
Commenting two years later ... (I am working my way through this mammoth thread) ... these are not only wonderful scenes to capture, it is fascinating how and where you have chosen to place the point of sharpest focus -- considering you used relatively wide apertures in each case. Sometimes in the foreground, sometimes in the middle distance etc.
A lot of the other scenic pictures in this thread are also beautiful but beg to be photographed with more depth of field, depending on what draws the eye into the scene. In the case of these images that need is not felt. Might be something interesting for you to comment on in one of your articles. Thanks.
This lens was the gateway into Leica exactly a year ago. It was the very first VM mount I had purchased where it served me well adapted onto my Xpro3 body as a 60mm FL. As soon as I used it on a Leica M10, it was a different ball game. This is the lens I have held on to so far.
Leica M10 shot at f1.2

If you are interested in either SE or VM version, please let me know.
