Does Image Stabilization work when using this lens with A7R II?
Yes, IBIS works with any lens. Moreover, when a lens has electrical contacts to identify itself to the camera IBIS works automatically, without having to enter the lens focal length manually. This lens has the electrical contacts.

Getting on okay with it mate??
Yes mate, never would have thought I would be shooting my family with a manual focus lens but it’s really addictive. This lens is awesome. Get a lot more misses than normal and even one of the ones above could have been nailed better but the images from the lens have a great look to them and a slight misfocus here and there doesn’t bother me

It's true of all the good ones. The image depiction is so right looking and appealing 'as a picture' that micro-inspections of focus points fade into the background, and take up their true (subordinate) place in the overall scheme of things. They work with your sense of engagement in the process, as a form of magic. The designer is sitting on your shoulder, not some AI generated algorithm.

I did always like the CV40/1.4M Classic I have but the rendering & general 'look' from this f/1.2 is beautiful in my opinion.
