Thanks again for the diopter suggestions Fred and David - I've got a couple of ones on their way to me at the mo - elpro 3 and sigma 2 but they'll of course be too small for the Batis but will be interested to try them on the Voigtlander & possibly on my Bokina as well. Will look into the Marumi and Raynox meantime...

Still looking for one if anyone is tired of theirs (yeah right) or the wife is griping you have too many lenses (more likely the case).
Why just the "wife"? Maybe the "husband" is griping. :^)
My wife has the closet in our bedroom. I have a den and all of the closet there and then most of the walk in closet in the other bedroom. I have no wiggle room on this. lol
Any news on the 40 shipping? B&H told me very possibly Monday but I called yesterday morning and they said no ETA but the US dist got them in (and sold out) so I can't understand why stores would not have received their allotment by now. They assured me I would be covered in their shipment coming in so I cancelled with another company as I have done a lot of business with B&H.

I cancelled with Adorama and ordered from the East Coast US distributor called Photo Village. Very nice lady thought they would have another shipment in about 10 days from today. She said that this lens has been unusually popular - and we all know why
Hi, just put in an order with CameraQuest today. I have a Zeiss 50/1.4 ZF that I like a lot, but wide open it is a little too funky even for my taste. Next door is my 35/2 ZF which is an all 'round wonderful lens. I don't know how the 40 will fit between them, but if the 40 is as sharp as the 35 at comparable apertures I just might sell both the 35 and the 50. That would give me a kit of 21 ZF.2, 40 /1.2, and 100 ZF.2. I might even slip in my somewhat neglected 28/2.8 AIs Nikkor.
I think I heard mention here that the 40/1.2 is more like 43mm. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
My gut tells me it's 42-43mm, but I have no idea how to test this. All I can say is that I've used a number of 35s and 50s, and this seems closer to 50 than 35. Also, I saved 43mm as Memory Recall preset on my RX100m3 because it seems the same FOV.
If anyone can test this better, I'm interested.

Great! I compared it, ages ago, with the Canon 4 diopter 250d and couldn’t find any difference in IQ (of course a slight difference in MFD) which makes it better value.
The Raynox I linked to on the Batis makes the result about as good as the awesome Sigma 150 Macro APO! I still use the Sigma for preference because it’s so much easier to focus a decidated macro lens.
@DavidBM, I got the 5 diopter Marumi today and run a few tests. It's not practical with the 135/2.8 APO. I get to 1:1 but IQ suffers a lot. Extension tubes are a better solution for the Batis.
However, the Marumi worked great with the CV 65/2 and it's actually a much better solution than using a 26mm extension tubes with this lens. Better contrast and resolution at 1:1 Macro.
The Marumi Achromat weighs about 100g and it's easy to attach to the lens when 1:1 Macro is needed. If could be an alternative to using the new 110/2.5 if working distance works for your subject.

Interesting! When I get home from travel next weekend I’ll try the five element 5 diopter Raynox again on the Batis. It is a lot bigger, heavier and expensive than the Marumi though. But if my initial impression that it was as good as the Siggy is true, if you have a Batis and were thinking of buying a long macro it would be cheaper. And lighter. Maybe the 135 focal length stretches the IQ of a two element diopter beyond what works...

This is strange. I got it yesterday. Just tried is some this morning. First on the 100-400 with a step down and did fine. Then the 135 2.8 and got good results. I was using an extension tube and the Marumi. Obviously a narrow DoF but it was sharp. Will have to try just the Marumi by its self. Haven't tried it on the 65 yet but looking forward. If it only worked on the 65 I would still be happy.

Which Marumi did you guys use? I'm using the '200' 5+ diopter Achromat.
My Batis is very sharp even at MFD but with the 5+ diopter, things got very soft at 1:1 macro. It would be great if you guys could confirm this.
On the 65/2 APO, the Marumi 5+ did well even wide open. It's a cheap and light way to convert this lens to full macro. It looks like the lens hood.
If I get a chance I will do some more with the 135 and the 5+, which is what I bought. But now I am anxious to try it with the 65 after what you have said. lol I used 26mm of tubes and the 5+ on the Batis because I wanted to get a smaller section but that doesn't do it. I often work with an area of 1cm or less so more tubes but I was just getting a feel for it. The results of having it on the 100-400 are good.
