Certainly would not hurt. It looks pretty dang good though. I'm very pleased so far. Looking forward to your tests later this week Fred. I love your infinity spot you shoot it's a perfect setup for it

So, really it's the Zeiss 35/1.4 ZM vs. CV 35/1.7 VM with the PCX filter on them for those of us that don't want/need AF and prefer a lighter/smaller 35mm.

Looks like one of these is in my future.

Guy - I'd love it of you pointed the 35/1.7 (with and w/o the 5m PCX) into the sun to see how the flare/ghosting behavior is.

Coated Optosigma has no impact on flare and ghosting behaviour.

don't forget the lux FLE, it's even smaller than the voigtlander.

i think Bastian was unconvinced by it though.

With this adapter infinity is right at the beginning of the infinity symbol on lens. So I still have room

Easy to find at night too

I'll post this infinity test but it looks killer on LCD

First series is the CV 35 1.7 in order 1.7,2,2.8,4,5.6,8,11
Than the FE 35 1.4 starting at 1.6 you will see that EXIF
Than there are 3 files of above 1.7,F4 and F5.6

I'll shoot some more in the coming days. Now I can have some fun with it. Fred is getting his Friday so I'm sure he will be posting results as well. Plus he has the A7rII . I sold mine and going to rent when needed.

Bastion which way do you have your front filter here convex to subject or in to camera.

Sweet, thanks. I somehow overlooked this page before...

I've read (from Bastian and others) that the Voigtlander vm-e close-focus adapter doesn't allow infinity with the vm 35/1.7. I reaaally want this feature as it's a key aspect of my style of shooting. Not sure if they have been tested for infinity but I have two knock-off vm-e adapters coming soon from eBay. One is a Leinox branded and the other is supposedly unbranded. Both were around $50.
