I got my silver K-1mII back from the repair shop yesterday. Unfortunately, the top control dial that needed replacing was done in black instead of matching silver, so the camera kind of looks Frankenstein now. Worse, the pictured diopter control was messed up by the shop. So after a couple of emails to the shop, I've decided to send it back for another workover. Hopefully it will be quick and nothing else will go wrong.

Took out the camera at the florist shop while the wife was buying something else. I was of course asked by the vendor if I could be helped. We all know the answer to that question.

We got on our new bikes and rode 14km to a local wildlife park, a trip we never would have taken without bikes. The animals were behind a thick fence that I didn't do a good enough job of eliminating.

Then we rode 14km back to the house and walked the dog. The cherry blossoms will be gone soon.
There's a thread going on in the forums that gave me an existential crisis... why bother using a real camera now that cell phones and computational photography are so good? Why do I own two DSLRs and 40 manual focus lenses when all I need fits in my jeans pocket? Then I realized I was out and about with my K-1mII happily shooting photos like the one below enjoying the process and tactile physical and intellectual sensations of using a real camera, and all the doubts seemed to go away.

I might have missed focus a little on this, the first poppy I've seen this year.

I also put the big guns on the camera this morning to see if they are still working, since I haven't used either in a while. These are the neighbors' cherry tree shot from my third floor window across the street.

My god it's the 19th already!
My silver camera came back on Wednesday of last week, but I didn't know because UPS tried to deliver while I wasn't home, then they never told me they were there. It sat in a warehouse for more than a week.
The good news is that it's fully repaired and back in action.
This one today is for the Project 52 special assignment, "Framed."
