None of the Loxias or adapted ZF lenses I've tried have true infinity at the hard stop...This has a lot to do with temperature but also field curvature as well where 'true' infinity is zone dependent.
The Laowa is pretty much flat field and it's nice they calibrated true infinity to be right in the middle of the infinity symbol. I wish my other MF lenses were calibrated like this.
it's annoying, but i'm pretty sure they do it because of sony's low tolerances. when i take a lens off one camera and out it on another infinity is almost never in the same spot on the distance scale.

Thanks again. Monies saved by me.
So much I love Sony, but for wide field astro I still wait for a lens with hard stop.
An accurate hard stop depends as much on your camera as on the lens given that it's an interaction of the tolerances. So the only way to verify it is to try it on your camera. Of course a lens that dies give an accurate hard stop on some cameras won't focus to infinity on others. Or some samples of the lens will have hard stop, and other samples won't be able to reach infinity.
This was always true, but becomes noticeable on modern high Rez cameras: which is why lenses all allow enough space so that every lens camera combo can make it to infinity. Which means *some* lens camera combo may by chance have an accurate hard stop: but it'll take a lot of searching to find one, working your way through multiple samples of your lens (my Loxia 2/35 has accurate infinity on my A7rii; but didn't on my A7 and other samples haven't on the rii. My other Loxias reach infinity before the hard stop, which I'm sure is the intended average result)

Mine will be here within hours. Fingers crossed I get a killer copy. I'm rethinking a few things with this coming. Dangerous thoughts.
I hope you are not thinking about selling your 12-24G!

Its a thought and get the 16-35 but that maybe crazy thinking. I need a AF 35 so Ill figure that out later. Lens is in hand. Very nice , trying to figure out hood now. I hate these claw things.

I think the Laowa 15/2 and 12-24/4 complement each other very well.

Mine showed up this morning, just a few quick test snaps.
1) Seems to be nicely sharp in the middle area at f/2, pretty good to the corners at f/5.6. Definitely better than the monster-sized Canon mount Zeiss ZE 15/2.8.
2) Quite a lot of LCA in the corners. Will have to play in ACR to see how well that cleans up.
3) Nice handling and MF.
4) I don't think I've ever seen a shrink-wrapped lens before!

Couple shots from LA. I do have to fix a hood that i put on . Need a straight 77mm blank filter ring. Im going 72-77 step up than a blank for my hood. This lens is just flat out outstanding.
