p.5 #1 · Sony's star-eater algorithm not fixed by f/w 4.0

I will believe it when I see it. Sony way too often ignores its customers.
Whilst Fuji have made a point of introducing real value adding firmware updates for older cameras (because it was the right thing to do, or because they have to in order to compete? You decide) I don't know that Sony are any worse in this regard than the likes of Canon etc. People have been demanding simple things from Canon for years, I lost count of how long it took them to get rid of the feature where it deleted all your photos in memory if you opened the battery compartment door...
Let's not forget that this whole thing started with Sony listening to their customers and issuing a firmware update (there were lots of complaints about long exposure noise on the A7RII compared to the original A7R). The only problem was the "fix" came at a price and couldn't be disabled for those who didn't want it in the first place.
