Wasn't there another image thread for the 28 1.4e? I could have sworn I posted there but can't find it. edit: maybe this is the right thread, the archive nature of it makes it hard for me to navigate. weird.
Ultimately I found that this is a great lens that I am not good at working with. The focal length just isn't for me.
I think it's time to sell or find someone with a 58 that wants to trade.
my daughter, 11, in her mother's wedding dress. I do one of these every year.

These girls sure grow up quickly. Mine is 13 and I would be exterminated if detected pointing a camera in her direction. So much for the annual family portrait. Sigh.
What happened to the dozens of pages of sample images posted in this thread? I only see page 1 from 2017, and I see no way to view the rest of the archived thread or navigate to another page.
Edit: Now that I've posted I see Fred Miranda's link to "view older replies" has been restored and all 30+ pages are once again visible. Wasn't there earlier... weird.
Just wondering how many folks are using the 28mm f1.4E on a Z body with the FTZ adapter, and if they could share their experiences? I love the Z lenses but really want something in the 24-35 range that gets to f1.4 for environmental portraits. I'm wondering if folks are finding it awkward/front-heavy on the adapter, or if it's working out well.

I use the 28 1.4E with a Z6ii. While not as compact and balanced as a native lens I still find the combination to be easy to handle and not as front heavy as the 105E with a FTZ. Performance mounted on mirrorless is stellar and better than with my DSLR IMO.
I've only had the chance to do a couple of test shots with this lens but I'm looking forward to doing a proper shoot with it. I love the extra depth of the images with this focal length. I also love the fact that it's different than the more common 35mm which I've never seemed to get myself excited about. I understand why people like the 28mm, 58mm, 105mm combination now.
The focal length can be hard for some to get used to, but I enjoy this lens very much. I find that my keepers with this lens are the ones where I was closer to the subject.

Agree....although I'm also liking the images where another out-of-focus object / person is close to the camera on the side with the subject farther back (my last shot above). It's the depth with a tantalizingly borderline perspective distortion that I love with this lens!
