I think I should keep away from this thread. I know, ownership is my favourite mistake.

Agreed, it would be nice if it was just a tad smaller, but if it's the price we pay for such excellent optical performance I'm ok with it

I really like the natural vignetting from the lens - when I edit, I typically only correct vignetting on this lens by 50, not the full 100. I find that the full 100 vignette correction in lightroom is usually a bit too much actually for the 28 f1.4E, as for many scenes it seems to overly correct and start clipping outside the center.

Of course it be wonderful if it could be smaller. I have resigned to that if I love FF then fast lenses will all be about the same size. I traveled through Asia and Spain a couple years ago and my go to travel setup then was the A7rII and FE 35/1.4 as I loved the IQ and feel from the images. No free lunch. I added a comparison for the D850 with 35/1.4G as to the A7rII and FE 35/1.4 and from a handling perspective I prefer the D850 or D750. There was no image for the 28E yet and the 35/1.4G is about the same except about 9mm longer.

This looks like an excellent lens in many ways, I understand many loves to shot this fast lens wide open but what are your experiences of using it for landscape shooting?

This lens is truly superb stopped down for landscapes. I have yet to include more images but it is one of the all time best WA lenses similar in calibre to the 105E and 70-200E. All these lenses are not cheap but if the intention is to have only a few they are worthwhile

Thanks, if I get the new Z7 this is definitely a lens I will consider adding to the kit.

Of course - that‘s the Epson 3880 - didn’t look closely enough.
Anyway - he is really cute and even though they probably don’t share as much passion as we do for photography, he doesn’t seem bothered at all.

Great colors, Charles! This lens clearly speaks your language, meaning f/1.4.

Thank you Rico I am really enjoying this lens so far. As with any new lens and different FOV it takes some time to get used of it.

Charles, note tree cover in #2 suffers defocus color fringing. Thanks to owners posting earlier in this thread, I was made aware of this weakness in the E and purchased anyway. Fringing conditions are pretty narrow: wider apertures, slight degree of defocus, high contrast area. I mean to test whether it clears at f/2.
