Maybe good time to post some of my recent A9 classic bird pics to balance the publicity A9 III is getting with its global shutter
Consider these images as a work case scenario. Nordic winter days are short, and the miserable 200-600mm G is only f/6.3. @600mm sensitivity is hovering around ISO1000 to get time to 1/1000 (or at least 1/500). No chance to use 1.4x TC. In this kind of environment A9 is ok(ish) for the job. I mostly complain about the lack of pre capture and small af button that is difficult to operate with freezing fingers.
For bird and nature photography I strongly prefer higher resolution. However, 24mpx resolution is not a real problem when shooting at this high ISO. But when there is more light, A1 with 50mpx would be much better (not to mention better af!).
Anyway, considering its current second hand market price A9 has plenty to offer
All pictures are processed with C1. If interested in full size images, please visit my Flickr, I have never really understood how this form handles large image files.
