Shalu I thought for sure that was with your FE400 F2.8.
Remarkable capture.
Thank you very much, Robert! That picture predates the 400 f/2.8 lens. The Sigma 150-600mm C served me remarkably well when used on A9 with MC-11. Its value is hard to beat.
Here's a sad attempt at motion blur, 1/25 sec.
Something I thought I'd try but needed lots of practice before being there
If just one had been in focus........
Shalu - supberb images!
Geoff - love those Buffies and that's the best looking shot of a Pidgeon I've ever seen!
Robert - Super cool pano with the Snow Geese.
Bob - lovely Trumpeter Swan!

Sadly wrong. I'm having no fun with the 400DOii. BUT BUT BUT Steve Perry's idea of gimbal+monopod works. Enjoyed it at the first pool at Bosque. I used a cheapo gimbal to experiment with but will follow Geoff and add a Junior when I can...Jobu I think. But when I need to walk it will be the 500PF.
I used a NEST gimbal (from HK - really nice gear though probably no-one here will have heard of them) & monopod for years (from 2013) when shooting birds (I rarely do nowadays and have sold the gimbal). It was an awesome setup and easily carried all day over a shoulder (Nikon D800E, 300/2.8 + x2.0 TC) with impressive setup speed when required. I used it everywhere from Bhutan, Myanmar, Borneo etc. to Inner Mongolia. Great bit of kit and works superbly on a monopod (I used a Benro).

EDIT. Oops I've seen three of your logos on two pages ! I meant the round one with the harrier.
Haha! Thanks! Supposed to be a Red-tailed Hawk
Bierd comes from our guide in Costa Rica. He could not say bird, but pronounced beard...I've been saying beard
for bird ever since. Unconscious almost at this point.
