Thank you very much, Robert! That picture predates the 400 f/2.8 lens. The Sigma 150-600mm C served me remarkably well when used on A9 with MC-11. Its value is hard to beat.

I used a NEST gimbal (from HK - really nice gear though probably no-one here will have heard of them) & monopod for years (from 2013) when shooting birds (I rarely do nowadays and have sold the gimbal). It was an awesome setup and easily carried all day over a shoulder (Nikon D800E, 300/2.8 + x2.0 TC) with impressive setup speed when required. I used it everywhere from Bhutan, Myanmar, Borneo etc. to Inner Mongolia. Great bit of kit and works superbly on a monopod (I used a Benro).

Bierd comes from our guide in Costa Rica. He could not say bird, but pronounced beard...I've been saying beard
for bird ever since. Unconscious almost at this point.
