It is almost like one needs to own both adapters and then if you update FW, be ready to switch to the other one just to have at least one adapter working as you'd like
I'm waiting for more brave souls to update FW before I do it....maybe I will just do the A9 and not the MC-11....hmmmm....I would guess that it is Sigma FW that messes adapted lenses up more so than A9 FW....but who knows
I tried MC-11 with a Canon 100-400 II yesterday, this combo worked just fine with all the newest firmwares. It seemed only effect my Canon 600 and that made me puzzled.
Full size on Flickr, and if they are somewhat noisy it is because they have been pushed up to 3 stops and I haven't bothered to do anything about it. The action was in the shadows.
I don't know how to upload images to the forum, but I spent the afternoon today taking photos of the air show at Fleet Week in San Francisco that I thought some of you might be interested in seeing. All images were taken with a Sony A9 with a Sony 100-400 GM zoom and a 1.4x Sony TC. I was sitting on the side of a hill very close to the center point of the show, which is positioned in the water between Alcatraz Island and the Municipal Pier at Aquatic Cove. Sight lines were pretty good but not perfect with some trees blocking some of my angles.
Images include multiple photos of the Blue Angels, a United 777 buzzing the bay, a stunt biplane, and various others. It was a beautiful afternoon here in SF and quite a show. Huge turnout. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the day.
Was my first time using the A9 at an air show. I was very happy with the performance of the camera and lens in this application. BTW, After reviewing the images during post processing, I am now fully aware that my sensor is in urgent need of a good cleaning. Please excuse the occasional splotch or two in the background on some of the shots.
mFrank, best guess 3x2 feet.....and if on display in a gallery I'd make viewing distance 7-8 feet, all of the top of my head, just precious little detail on that shot
