^I think I like the conifer as much as the bird, just awesome greens.
Well I'm almost done with Florida pics, won't get the last 20 or so done before leaving Monday for Newfoundland. Here's one more from my favorite venue Circle Bar B taken at the end of the day.
Sony ILCE-9
FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS + 2X Teleconverter
ƒ/11.0 494.0 mm 1/1600 1600
I took the teleconverter off at Alligator Farm but I don't think I ever did at Circle.
^Another fantastic series, and all novel to me.
Your studio is a treasure trove compared to mine.
I did watch a rabbit sitting for 40 min's hoping the neighborhood hawk might swoop.
I finally gave up.
Great skill Roberts and Geoff, good to see the adapted lenses work so well for kind of photography which requires a demanding skill set !!
Also, great to see you guys using Alpha lenses. Sony also has a 500/4 i think. They have a 600/4, I didn’t know. I could be wrong but they have a 400/2.8 also.

Thanks. Sony has a 500/4 and 300/2.8 for the A-mount. They are very outdated and over priced lenses. I would not consider them. I would rather use an adapted Sigma 500/4 or what I'm doing now and adapting my Canon primes.
Sony is releasing a native FE mount 400 f/2.8 later this year...that will be the drool worthy lens. Hopefully they will make a native 500/4 FE lens eventually...a 300/2.8 would be nice also (or 400/4).

Why would you consider the 500 and 300 II out dated? The 500 is the same era as the II Canons and the 300 though optically a KM has been updated with the 500 ssm motor and nano coating. Have you ever shot with the 500? If you ever travel south to Oregon, please stop by for an education.

Yes, maybe I misspoke with outdated....I'll stick with overpriced then If I was shooting an Alpha camera I'd probably use them. But if I'm going to adapt the lens to an A9 then I'd just as well get the Sigma for half the price. I wouldn't go out and buy the Canon versions just to adapt either, of course if you already own the Alpha lenses then that would be a good way to go and adapt to an A9 (if the A9 has benefits to you over the Alpha cameras).

Definitely over priced (I got both my 300 & 500 for the same price as Canon equiv.)...Minolta lenses were always more expensive than the plebeian Canon or Nikon lenses. The weird thing is that your Canon lenses will focus better than A mount lenses with adapter on E mount cameras.
