I used to live in Florida, spent many young years in the state, and my dad grew up in Avon Park. So over the years we've hit many many bierding/wildlife venues there. My favorite is Circle Bar B. The reason is that Poof loves to walk and walk and walk. In 4 days there we covered almost 30 miles.
She cannot stand Conowingo where you just sit and wait and wait and wait.
If I can keep her moving she's a much more pleasant person to be around.
Excepting sharks, manatees, and panthers almost everything Florida has to offer can be found there. Next time we go we will spend 5 days there just so we can get our steps in
You guys have obviously mastered this camera! Can I ask a couple questions on this thread?
I have been using Canon gear for 2 weeks a year since 2003 and not much more than that. It's really too heavy for me now and some of my photo trip friends have started shooting with the Olympus EM1 Mark 2. I started reading about that camera but the A9 has really caught my eye. I have a trip planned in 2 weeks (Vietnam) and am wondering if it's possible to learn how to use the A9 in that short amount of time. I will be super busy at work trying to get everything done before I leave so it's even less time.
Do y'all think the adapters work well with Canon lenses? Seems like I read in some posts on this long thread that they work well and in other posts it sounds like they "hunt". I do want it to focus fast. If I get an adapter I would probably use the 70-200 2.8 II. Or will it be better to get a Sony lens? Thanks for letting me butt in here. https://www.flickr.com/photos/50990013@N04/
That is really interesting (or not) because the A9 is using a code from the A mount for the cheaper SAM mechanical motors as opposed to SSM driven. Wonder if that effects performance?

I don't know, not sure if the Metabones reports any differently. Probably makes sense because it is driving a Canon USM motor and not Sony's own SSM. I mean performance with Canon lenses is not up to the native 100-400GM I own and not up to how they work on a Canon camera so the entire system (programmed through the Sigma adaptor) is not ideal as native systems.
