Flash delay, hmmmm. Will have to think about that. I'm afraid to use flash with the a9-haven't sent mine back for the repair yet.
Well your flash delay might suck but CR the images are really top drawer. I wouldn't have known flash was used.
TY
you have to use the mechanical shutter as im sure you know. seems like im getting 3 fps in all manual mode. when you press the shutter and the picture happens the bird is already out of the frame.
CR I'm just not a flash guy. I learned 'enough' to get products pics for the buy/sell thread here and I've used it when I had no choice documenting owls. Maybe if I learned more and made it look like yours where you just don't know flash was used then I enjoy it more; right now it's just a necessary evil I deal with every now and then.
Now theoretically, isn't there a strobe out there somewhere than 20fps ain't a thing? Still even if the e-shutter just isn't compatible with flash the way we need it.
Even that last sentence sounded crazy talk, just shows how much I don't know.

Geoff I'm jealous of how many species you are privy to.
I often feel I live in a wildlife desert.

Well, we don't have colorful cardinals though
Try turning off "red-eye reduction" in camera,no delay then.

Playing with flash on these. Gotta say it sucks. The delay is very frustrating for me coming from a d500 shooting 10 fps with flash.
