Right now Firefly costs $399 and Blackstone is $599. Optics are the same.
Is it worth spending 50% more $ for metal housing, engraved markings, reflective paint, 4 gaskets instead of 3 (front element is not weather sealed), a black box, a better case (which nobody uses it), a nicer feel?
And just so you know, I'm not the type of person jumping over a cliff while shooting a crocodile nor willing to shoot in the Amazon on a crazy storm.
I bought a used Firefly from my friend, so far so good. But per my friend told me he just tried 2 to 3 in the shop and found one have a very big dust inside the lens and one have symmetric focal plane issue and he was lucky to find the third one was acceptable. I haven't heard the Blackstone have these kind of issue so far.

I'm wondering if other people experienced the same issues...
I have the Firefly version of the 11mm F4.0 on back order. Don't see any reason to pay anything more for bells and whistles on a 3rd party lens that I would use infrequently. Actually plan to team it with my Nikkor 14-24 F2.8 for a faster/cheaper combo to sub for a 11-24 F4.0 Canon.

Once you get it, can you please share your thoughts about it?
