This is a rare lens and it is one of the two Zeiss ZM lenses made in Germany rather than in Japan by Cosina. In total, there are only 600 lenses in the world. I have had this lens for several years and used it first with my Leica-M system. More recently, I used it on my Sony A7 system using either Hawk's factory adapter and the new TAP adapter. It worked just fine and the TAP puts in a new life with AF to the lens.

It comes with the optional and OEM Zeiss lens hood, the box/packing material, pouch and paperwork. The box has seen better days, especially in the corners, but it is just a box. The lens hood comes in a separate box.

It is in mint condition except for a scratch in the lens barrel. i wanted to replace existing mount with a 6-bit code mount by a local camera repair guy. He offered that service and he had 6-bit replacement mounts available. Somehow during the process, his screw driver slipped and scratched the barrel. I was there and watched in horror. I stopped the process and he tried to buffed the scratch and it became fainter alright but the paint in that area became smoother/shinier. He apologized but it didn't change the situation. I was pissed and just ended up walking away, and never to come back.

Except for that scratch, the rest of the lens is mint but I would not call it like-new. The optics are flawless. Please take a look at the images of this lens and judge yourself. The scratch is visible in Figure 2 between the FL indicator "85" and aperture mark "16". In addition to the images of the lens, I am attaching a few images taken with that lens using Leica M9 and more recently Sony A7r II in combo with TAP.

There is one for sale on that big auction site. And the price is almost $7,000!! I would say that except for the minor scratch, mine is in better shape and it comes with the box, too. Then there is another seller that sells the lens hood alone for $500!! Those are ridiculous prices and I don't expect to sell this lens close to them . But since it is a rare lens, it is really hard for me to come up with the price. Anyway, I would like to get $2,995.00 for both the lens and optional lens hood. I reduced the price by $450 on Monday, April 10. I will leave it the way it is for a few more days. Priority shipping is included but using a payment method that doesn't incur any fee for that, please.

Thank you for looking and please feel free to ask any question. Although my feedback speaks for itself but I am also open to talk on the phone and answer any questions you may have that way. Do you like the lens but don't like the price? Please contact me and let me know.

Joshua

Edited on 12 April - The lens is now listed on that auction site with a lower starting price. I would rather sell the lens on this board for obvious reasons but I couldn't get anybody interested. Anyway, here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/332178936882?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649. It will be sold at whatever price it ends up getting. Please note the the price listed here on this thread is now just for listing purposes only. I have to abide by selling it through that auction site now. But that would be the price I would like to see folks bid up to. Thank you!

Has this copy fixed the "wobble"? Might help potential buyers.

Thanks you! I am not the original owner of the lens. Granted I didn't use this lens frequently at all but through out the time I have had it, I never noticed any wobble whatsoever. I am not sure whether the previous owner had this fixed or not. At any rate, the way it is right now, the lens doesn't exhibit any wobble.

dream lens great price - glws - why did i have to see this, my my my

afaik, the cosina-built zeiss M lenses were the occasional wobblers, not the 15/2.8 and 85/2, which were built in germany
