Focus stacking looks great, especially on the last three images. Does the 50r have the same focus stacking capabilities as the recent x series cameras, or must it be done manually?
It should be like the X-series. You can use it in two modes:
1) Manually set steps and step amount
2) Automatically calculate needed steps to proceed from point A to point B
The overal stacking process has some issues like for example the blurred sticks in photo number 4. If there is large amount of focus breathing (focal length changes enough when focusing) or background/foreground is heavily blurred, stackers go bonkers. In general, I have noticed that overlapping objects are a difficult case for all focus stacking applications.
Those are very nice shots. And I like the processing. Didn't know you were local. I have Sigma 105mm f1.4 but it is FE mount so can't use on the GFX. I wish Fuji made faster lenses for the GFX. How is the AF with your Nikon 105mm on the GFX?
Thanks. I just MF the Nikon 105/1.4 with my gfx50s. I think there's an AF adapter but have not invested in it.
May get the sigma 105/1.4 as that will work with my canon R5 and gfx50s. But letting the Nikon go is a hard decision.

Thanks. After the firmware update, I saw a lot less hunting with my GFX50s. I used mostly Sony for the shoot but looking back, I am impressed. Fuji eye detect is no good but it still nailed focus better on some shots than my A7rIV with 85FE. I still think bigger size and more heft of GFX50s and the lens helps make it more stable while shooting. Only if B&H can ship my GFX100s, I can test it and decide what I want to do with my Sony setup.

Thanks. I have the 50S and A1.
Considered A1 and FE 50/1.2 GM?
Nails Eye-AF every time.
I like my Fuji GFX 50S and lenses a lot.
Including GF110, GF63, but don’t own GF80.
Should be interesting to compare GF63 with
FE 50 GM on their respective 50 MP cameras.
