I wasn't sure who the member at DP was who did those tests or what his experience and testing methodology was. As such it must be taken with a grain of salt. I am confident that Guy will be able to provide us all with some great results. I figured I would just bring up the other thread for those who did not know about it and we're just interested in seeing some actual samples taken wth then lens.

Its all good trust me. Reviews are great but I just don't trust a lot of them anymore. Thats more me than anything else. Its truly why i don't do reviews to be published outside our little home here. I do it for us so we know and I'm very neutral. Its not good it will go back.

In hand. I got grandkids for couple hours so can do much. But build quality is really kind of nice. Not Zeiss or Leica but really nice. It's not that big really. Look at you iPhone 7. It's same width. And just over half the height. I'll get a shot against another lens. Some nice pluses full Exif. Distance scale in EVF and LCD. Just like a native lens only manual focus. Aperture ring out front is very smooth with clicks in 1/3 stops. Also easy to get too and left hand is right in it. Very nice much better than a Loxia. Focus is very smooth almost like fly by wire but more drag on it so it feels good. I like this let's call it like a GM 85 for instance. Distortion looks pretty good I need to test this for sure. Ok it seems very sharp. I'm getting moire in fabric pool fence. So great resolving power in center

Real quick here . This is my kitchen and family room . Im seeing very little distortion. Yes that is how my kitchen looks in color. Those lights are very very warm and i got daylight coming in. I shot this 100 times over the years . Pardon the mess .
These are very sharp. Ill get raws up later to play with

Lol bokeh little nervous there but it's a 20 so I can overlook it some. I will do a full series up close. My bet 2.8 will look better
The Loxia 21/2.8 bokeh wide-open looks very smooth at similar distance in comparison. That's something I noticed from your initial samples.

From memory Fred I think your right. This has 2 aspherical elements . I'll look at specs
The Loxia's bokeh looks surprisingly smooth at close distances for a ultra-wide. It's not something I care too much for my applications but it's inevitable we will draw some comparisons. The other two pluses for the Loxia are the high micro-contrast and attractive sunstar rendering starting a f/5.6.
