Finally took the lens out for some normal shooting. No WO shots here but stopped down to f/4.6-11, this lens is a great performer. Very sharp! I notice a little barrel distortion but I bet it will be corrected once a profile exists in LRCC.

You guys make this lens look better and better. I am holding on to my wallet...., uh, credit card . Can you post some comparison size-wise, side-by-side to another lens, let's say, the FE 55mm f/1.8 or so, please? TIA!

What adapter? I never had much luck with Metabones on SWA lenses. My MC-11 seems to have the right registration distance and tolerances for flatness and parallelism.Any adapter can make a huge difference with the IQ of a lens on Sony, especially SWA lenses and corner sharpness.

"My lens arrived by Fedex at midday (UPS are usually late in the day) so I was able to do some preliminary tests. As a simple 1st check I slapped an adapter on it, focused in the center on the roof and trees of my back neighbour at high mag, then moved the focus point to one of the corners. The corner was terrible! I checked another corner and got the same thing. I had put on an MB IV adapter and it was focusing on infinity well before the stop, so I switched over to an MC-11 which only went a fraction of a turn to the stop past infinity. Completely different lens! Well we've seen this before but not sure I have on my own lens....."
I ended up shimming my 2 Metabones adapters but they now sit permanently on my 17 and 24mm TSE lenses with metabones L-brakckets attached. The 14mm SP has an MC-11

Broken links on my old images but I found some astro crops; I assume they were WO, 2.8, 4. Not sure of the exposure time or ISO, looks like I tweaked ISO to try to adjust exposure (but overdid it). I always use this lens WO for astro,

There should have been auroras yesterday. But no. So I decided to shoot this and that.
There was a weak breeze, so there was a little movement in the trees etc.
