This is looking good! My sigma MC-11 seems to be spot on and focuses just past infinity which is my preference. However it's been too cold, snowy and cloudy here in MN to do much testing.

Looks great! I may have to try one. Does it seem like it's faster (i.e. more light) than the old 2.8 version?
I can't really tell yet, not enough shots in the same conditions. I typically only used the old MF version for stars. Once I've done more I'll be able to compare files.

The SS foil I ordered was delivered and I made up some shims to go in one of my MB IV adapters which was too thin. I was lucky and with a single shim got it to pretty much the same as the MC-11 adapter, ie got infinity focus just before the hard stop. The result seems to bring the adapter up to the same quality as the Sigma adapter which is good news.
I think the lens is a keeper. Not sure what the Sigma will bring to the table but I'm very happy with the tests from this lens so I'll likely skip it ... unless
Some additional tests. I forgot to put on the unshimmed adapter to show the difference, but this was with the new and improved MB IV

Thanks for tests, gentlemen. It's probably too early to comment on QC, but otherwise how does the XP compare to the old 14 2.8? Vignetting looks slightly better may be?

Finally some decent weather. All are at f/5.6 except the first which is wide open. Close focusing is nice. Colors and sharpness are nice. A bit of flare shooting into the sun is not. Hopefully it stay clear and I can shoot some stars tonight.

Hi
Would you mind posting pics of your shims? I'm haveong the same issue with my Fotodiox Pro adapter and I'm not liking the corners at all! They do look consistent so I don't think it's decentering. Hoping to get it working right. The center is really quite sharp!

I have one coming tomorrow as well but I need to find an adapter. I think my local camera store has the MC-11 in stock so I may pick up one of these.

Thanks!
I have 1 more adapter to make shims for so I'll post a pic when I do that one, but essentially it will look like this, except that I found I had to make the shims narrower otherwise they fouled the lens flange when it was being mounted (I could not mount the lens the 1st time). I'm using a thicker, stiffer shim material and only needed 1 layer and I think that was part of the problem. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1415739/2#13444891

Sorry to bug people again, but how would rate fall off/vignetting wide open? Bob's first shot above shows some, but to my eyes it doesn't look too bad. The old Samyang 14 2.8 and the Zeiss 15 2.8 are pretty bad in that regard, with the latter supposedly having more than 4 EVF worth at f2.8, which sucks for astro.

In my limited shooting with the lens, I believe it to be much better than the old Samyang. While there might be some variability depending on shooting conditions, I believe what we see in my WO shot above to be typically what we will see with the new lens. I will say that I need more time with the lens myself. Work and weather have prevented me from spending the quality time I need . . .

Received mine this week and have played with it a little on my 5DSR. Here are a couple of shots in late afternoon light and then a few of the (light polluted) night sky in my neighborhood. 100% crops of those as well in the lower left corner. I attempted to get the exposures for the sky to be about the same (f/2.4 at 20s and ISO 1600, f/2.8 at 30s and ISO 1600, and f/4 at 30s and ISO 3200).
FWIW, I set the focus at the infinity mark and it looks pretty darn accurate to me.
House Wide Open
House at f/8 (the sun was going down so there is a little less light)

Here are a couple of WO shots taken yesterday to show vignetting. They're pretty small but you can find larger versions in the link below, as well as the same images taken from 2.8 to F8 http://www.pbase.com/mike_broomfield/14mm_sp_rokinon_lens_tests
'scuse the glove intrusion on the left on some of them ...
These were hand held with EFC off so that there should be no effect from short shutter times (1/2500) on the WO shots. LR processed with defaults.
