I too have the moderately priced 40mm F2.0. I got it in the Nikon mount that adapts well to Canon. So I guess I could adapt it with a Metabones (and the Canon adapter) to an E mount?
The 40 had the best lens IQ of the series. Small and light I favored it for trips. I used to use it in museums. Now I keep it on my D800e for infinity landscape out the window (hard infinity is not however).
I bought one when I had the A7, and used it a great deal. A very good lens, and so compact that even with the adapter it doesn't seen large. I have disposed of the A7 now, but it makes a very good standard lens on the D7000 amd also on the Fuji Xpro2, with a vented hood it's good on the Xpro2 with the ovf.
