p.2 #1 · X-T2: shutter count and fit/finish question

The X-T2's shutter is rated, AFAIK, to >150k actuations. And it's a new camera -- only been out for six months or so -- therefore what are the chances that the previous owner put tens of housands of actuations on it? Pretty low. And how many actuations do you really plan on putting on it before you sell the camera for something different? If you're just a hobby photographer then probably not very many. Just something to think about ...

I forgot all about this thread! The camera has been working very well and no signs that it's worn out. It was a good deal, and at the time I bought it new ones were simply not available in Canada.

I'm not "worried" about the misaligned dial, and will probably never care enough to have it repaired. We'll see.

I would be little more caution with it, some people use Time Interval capturing numerous images in short time.

You mean continuous? If you're buying a 5 or 6 year old camera it's definitely something to think about (I've purchased cameras that have had the shutters recently replaced) but most people unload a camera long before the shutter fails. The actual condition that the camera is in, physically, is pretty important -- whether it's been mishandled, dropped, exposed to water, etc.

Yes - I guess Image Count and File Name are not directly independent.

Not sure how useful the Image Count is either as it doesn't differentiate between mechanical and electronic shutter.

No, I mean like Time Lapse thing.
One of my colleges just sold his D750, but he was kind of surprised that his shutter counter was way higher than he would've thought. He realized quickly why, then he had to lover his price tag to be able to sell it.
Those kind of shootings add counts quicker than you would think.
