I'm not a meteorologist - or any other kind of 'ologist for that matter. So, I'm not really sure what - or - why the ring forms around the sun like it did this evening. I'm sure it has something to do with the sun permeating the moisture in the air. Either way - it looked pretty darn cool - and it worked perfectly with the rocks I found in Laguna.
To top it off - this was one of the first images I've taken with the new Sigma 12-24mm f4. I think I might keep it for awhile. Shot at 12mm.

Todd - you caught some great lines and symmetry in this pic. And welcome to the 12mm team! Now what are you going to do with that hulking 14-24? Dave
Dave - It's really not a question of what I will do with the 14-24, it's more of a question of when do I get a bigger pack to carry it all? I must say - I do like the 12mm team.

Most excellent. Perfect exposure and processing. I love the "centeredness" of it - but I'm a sucker for that feeling in my landscapes.
Jim - thanks very much for the comments on processing - this is the one area I am continually trying to improve on.
