p.1 #1 · Territorial behavior of bluegreen rufous hummingbird
This little guy was feeding near the top of a heliconia stalk when a rival showed up. He immediately switched from hovering to perching position and spread his wings in a threatening way. The rival flew back and forth behind him for a short period while the first guy kept an eye on him. The intruder decided to wait for awhile until the first guy moved on.

Joshua, you are posting some wonderful shot and this set is no exception. Great work, so nicely done.

Thank you for you flattering words, Birdie! I got lucky a few times on that trip. That much so that I am seriously considering of going back to try my luck again there. And possibly either combine that trip with with that to Ecuador or just go to Ecuador directly next year. Considering the conditions in that region, it is easier to get lucky there than over here .

Those are five really beautiful, sharp images with tons of personality. Super well done! They look like not quite adult White-necked Jacobins trying hard to intimidate each other with all that tail fanning.

Frame filling color and great action captures. #1 is very lifelike and 3D, loving the colors! Great work on framing them both up for the shots.
