Nice picture there. Not sure I understand the title

I like the BW version, as it makes the title have more meaning. I can totally see how this looks like a violent ocean of waves. I know most people might hate the idea, but it could even have a more artful impact with a bit of a blue tone added to the BW image? Something to really throw off the viewer until they realize what it actually is.

For the color version, I do agree for my personal taste that the saturation coming down a bit might look a bit more subtle and nuanced, but that is just personal preference.

Absolutely! Thanks!

Preferences will vary between colour or black and white, but what does make either version superb is the capture of the subtle swirls in texture accentuated by lighting .

Thanks Marcelo! I rarely do anything in b/w so I gravitate towards color.

Thank you Johan! I am glad I made the b/w version as I know many people who enjoy b/w rendering more than color.

Thanks Javier! The photo reminds me of The Perfect Storm movie i.e. of a stormy sea.

Amazing and creative composition. I have a hard time deciding which version is better. I'm sure you feel the same!
Congrats!

Both are fantastic, but the richness and variance in colors of the first one really take the cake for me. Great composition as well.

Thanks for the endorsement of the "rich color" version!

I really like the compositions! Personally i try to keep colours as real as i saw them, but that is my style - and we all have our own styles.

The B&W is my favorite by a wide margin. The beauty of the shot is the composition and the graceful lines. To my eye the color, especially the highly amplified color, is a distraction. Great work!
