After seeing the images on this thread I had to spring for the Batis 85, from an FM'er who has posted here. Looking at them again makes me wonder about the 25. Has anyone used the 85 and 25 as a two-lens combo? My original plan was for the 85 and maybe something around 35. I am trying to move away from zooms. I have the Rokinon 14, which seems to be a good copy.
I use the 25mm and the 85mm for photojournalism when I want to add a little magic to my images. If things look like they maybe a little unpredictable I just bring the Sony 20-70 g but I feel the images are never as good. I find that when on a standard zoom I am at either end of the range most of the time so 25mm is great for establishing shots and 85mm perfect for cutting through the visual noise and isolation of a point of interest in a scene.
