Someone with close ties to Cosina Voigtlander told me yesterday that the Macro Apo-Lanthar 65/2 is expected to ship "during the Northern Hemisphere summer".
A 404 Page Not Found error rather than (for example) a redirect to the home page. That's pretty blunt. And yet two pages that mention the Macro Apo-Lanthar 65/2 are still visible:
* E-Mount Lenses
* Sneak Preview at CP+ 2017
The definition of Kremlinology ("the art of observing, deducing and guessing what is really happening within a secretive organization") applies equally well to Cosina Voigtlander.
Single web pages don't break like that without tampering. Might mean they were trying to update the web page in advance of (a possibly imminent) launch but failed. Seems unlikely that they canceled the lens without notice and then forgot to update the link on the home page. It's a screw up, sure, but it also shows there is some activity.

I don't think that the English / German Voigtländer page (where 65/2 link went missing) is maintained by Cosina directly. The link to Ringfoto GmbH from this Voigtländer distributor page goes there: http://www.cosina.co.jp/kaigai/index.html
Cosina's own Japanese page hasn't had listings for the new lenses yet. It has it's own English version as well.
Now this lens has been announced for Japan with release date 10th of August and MRSP of 120000 yen, street price will probably be around 100000 to 110000 yen at first then.
Map Camera has listed it for 110080 yen including tax (8%). I guess the U.S. price will be around $1000 and release date probably close to August 10th.

Here is a link to an English language spec of the lens, Voigt 65/2. The marketing text present in German is missing in English though.
There are ten aperture blades.
It weighs 635 grams, so heavier than the Sony 90/2.8 at 602 grams.
There is one aspherical element, marked in light blue. No mention of ED glass.
Am I the only one to be reminded of the Leica Elmarit R 60mm makro f:2.8 in terms of focal length, size, magnification, metal construction, weight? A delightful lens, even by today's standards.
I am eagerly awaiting more pics to see if I will add one to my bag.

The Makro-Elmarit-R 60/2.8 is indeed a gem. I've always been delighted by the results I get from mine. But I'd be surprised if the Macro Apo Lanthar doesn't trounce it in a variety of ways.

Not yet mentioned, but I thought the Coastal Optics 60mm Macro f4, was THE reference lens to beat in this area?
Without attempting to speak for philber, I understood his post as referring to certain physical similarities between the lenses ("focal length, size, magnification, metal construction, weight"). I certainly wasn't thinking of the Macro-Elmarit-R 60/2.8 as a reference lens. As for the $4495 Coastal Optics 60mm f/4 UV-VIS-IR APO Macro, it would appear to be in a class of its own.
