With he temperatures dropping a bit, I decided to check what was going on in the Gulf. Glad I did that as I was able to free two birds, a Willet and a Black Skimmer, all tangled-up in the same fishing line and unable to do anything. It was easy with the Willet. It was very calm and cooperative as if it knew what I was doing. Took me one minute to get it free. Different story with the Skimmer. Took me more then 10 minutes (and quite a few bites) to get it free. It was screaming, wiggling and flapping its wings. Unfortunately I didn't have a knife with me so I had to untwist the whole fishing line.
I was also able to find quite a few shore birds some seeing for the first time. This is why you' are getting a photo heavy post
Socrate
Oh wow, what a marvelous set !! No favorites as they are all outstanding. Those snowies with that gorgeous sand and beautiful blue background just jump off the page.
A refreshing set of patterns, calming blues, seashore scenery and excellent whites!
A marvelous set Socrate, I'm picking the whole set and voting for it
Thanks for the rescue of the birdies. It always ticked me off to see tangled fishing line discarded on the beach just waiting for some bird to get entangled in it. These are all marvelous. Am I seeing things, or are two toes missing in # 9? Makes me want to head back down to the coast for a few days. These are all gorgeous.
What a rich and beautiful set, Socrate! Each is an image worth savoring and to be able to see them all together is truly a breath of fresh (beach) air!
Thanks for brightening a dark and dreary evening (and for rescuing those birds!).
