Any Loxia owners here? If so is the draw of the Sonnar that different? I have streamlined over the years. From a bag of zooms and heavy 1.4s to a 50 and 21.
yes, very different. the loxia is basically a revised zm 50/2 and those two lenses have pretty much as close as you can come to the opposite look as the zm 50/1.5.

+1
This is what makes the ZM 50/1.5 C Sonnar so special

I think it will be f/2.5 or f/2.8 but let's see.
I'm hoping it's f 2.8-4; a loxia for me is a compact landscape lens. The slower the better - and the better the better. Make it slow, throw the kitchen sink at it for performance, and you should be able to get the lens better than which cannot be conceived...

I might sell my 50 1.4 . I know it's really a sick move but I really have it covered in some ways. Noodling but it will be listed here.
Is that the FE/ZA ? You can probably snag a used 50C and 35C Biogon for that.. uscmatt already said it was the next 'cool kid' lens, so at least you'll be ahead of the curve on that one..

We already have the fantastic 85/4 ZM for that.
Yep; and I'm hoping for basically an even more fantastic re-design!
Especially as TAP is making me re-think anything faster. Why would I want a Loxia 85 at f 2.8 however compact when I might want to press it into portrait service on trips, when something in M mount could go on TAP!

David get the ZM 85 F4. I'm not sure anything can touch it for landscape it's that good.
It smokes my GM 85

My bet is in a 16-35GM and Loxia 85.
I was thinking Loxia 85 too. 21/35/50/85 makes for a very nice kit. With the new Milvus 135/2 announcement I'm also expecting a 135/2 Batis. 18/25/85/135 might also leave room for a Batis 50 ?

Yes. To me it's the best corrected highest resolving 50 you can buy. Never used the hood. I want more character . Worst case I'll buy it again latter
This one . I bought it before I left NY late July from B&H . I never used the hood or front caps. Box everything. Full review here in Sony forum that Fred started. It's absolutely the best 50 I ever shot but I'm not the biggest 50 guy and my use would be the grandkids and people stuff so I think the ZM 50 maybe better for me . I have the GM 85 and 24-70 GM surrounding it so I can really get by.
