So here it is. Body at 6500 $ is nice. Lenses bit more expensive than I thought. The official weight with EVF+battery is listed at 920 grams. One reviewer measured it at 940 g. Size comparison to the Hasselblad here. So I definitely like the X1D's size more but I can't ignore the price difference with these two.

I noticed a H lens adapter on B&H. Looks very interesting and the pricing I think is quite fair overall. 15k for everything they offer is really darn good for MF. I came from 5 Phase One backs in my past and really just a 40mpx back was this much. Certainly look into it more when it's out. I would have to keep a Sony around but something worth looking at.
But I'm not ready to bail ship on Sony either as I think good things are just around the corner. Great time for photography with some nice valid choices.

I would like to start things off with just the 32-64, but I doubt you could get body & 32-64 for $8K
Price, I'm guessing ... $7999 for the body + standard (63).
Not too bad a guess ... off by $1.
Flippy screen in BOTH directions landscape & portrait.
3 FPS and 400 image battery life ... but, for size / weight and amount of processing being performed, not unreasonable (even if slightly disappointing).
Very much reminds me of my SLR/C (philosophically) ... slow, with a ton of processing behind the scenes for optimal IQ.
I wonder how long before anyone will come up with a Canon EF mount adapter. Before you think that's not practical ... think larger image circle of 17mm TS-E on MF.

Electronic front curtain that automatically shuts off at high shutterspeeds. Thumbs up!
Jonas Rasks sample images shows incredible IQ as expected.
I will take a chance and invest in this system. Hoping it will be available for a long time.

If you can get an adapter for it, the CY 100mm f3.5 will work really well with it. I keeps very sharp out to 8mm of shift horizontal and 10mm of shift (as far as my adapter shifts) vertical in either direction on my A7R2. That means It will easily cover a 44mm x 33mm sensor, with no IQ degeneration.

I'm probably just not well caffeinated enough at the moment, but with the crop sensor (0.787 compared to 645 film, right?) what's the equivalent depth of field? i.e. the 63/2.8 would look like a 50/2.2? 2.0?

well, FF 35mm would be a 1.22 crop from this sensor. So the lens is like a 52mm. In terms of DoF, 1.6x APC was like 1 stop of DoF loss so FF compared to this would probably be 1/3 or 1/2 a stop so it's like a 52mm f2.3ish lens.
