It's base ISO is 100. I really like to know what software for tethered. From B&H

51.4MP 43.8 x 32.9mm CMOS Sensor
X-Processor Pro Image Processor
Removable Electronic Viewfinder
ISO 100-12800
Focal Plane Shutter, Up to 1/4000 sec.
Top Settings LCD Monitor
Multi Aspect Ratio Shooting
Weather-Sealed Construction
Tethered Shooting Support

The discussion about ISO 200 started when I posted a screenshot from the Dpreview interview video.
The prototype shows that when ES or "ES + MS" is engaged, minimum ISO changes to 200.

Do we know that for sure though. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Oh wait now I see it that's just weird . Top shutter speed drops too. Never seen that

Same here, but I've got access to a large set of system V lenses so I'll be interested to give it a try and see how it goes

I think the V lenses and Contax lenses will work. My concern is when we get to the shift lenses , Its not the biggest deal breaker but it's something we need to look at. It won't stop me from buying it if I decide to go this route.

Quite frankly, Sony has duped Fuji again by buying a digital format/size that was never popular in the film era.

This format size may not have been popular, but having shot on a pentax 6x7 (actually 58x70) for most of my professional landscape work, I prefer this ratio 0.82 to the 0.66 of the 35mm format andy day! Thus one, 33x44 will be 0.75 which is close to 6x7, so I am really happy about that.

Hopefully so! Fuji has been really responsive to it's customers needs and they have a smaller user base. Hopefully they would make one if they had customers that needed it.

Even if you cropped to 6x7 your losing very little in Mpx. Leica screwed the whole history of photography with this dang 3:2 format. Lol

A lot of folks don't realize this but Fuji has been around for decades and they always produced great product. Some of my favorite lenses where from shooting 4x5 and 8x10 view cameras. Had some really good view camera lenses. I like them because they think a lot like us shooters, not engineers. No offense guys but you know what I mean.

No offense at all! I'm an engineer, and a photographer. Ideally, something like a camera should seem as if it was designed completely by photographers. The engineers' job is to make it work, without you noticing that a lot of engineers were involved

I just verified that the XPro2 stays at its lowest ISO of 200 regardless of which shutter mode you select.

I wonder if this strange loss of the lowest 100 ISO setting on the new MF camera is just an artifact of its beta state? (I haven't looked, but if the camera has a physical ISO knob it would be very problematic for the ISO to no longer go to 100 in electronic shutter mode.)

Thanks Fred. I missed the ISO limitation with EC. I wonder if that will be the case in the released version since I don't think that is the case with the x-trams bodies. (Could I be wrong about that? And, of course, they only go down to 200.)

And... now I'll have to test my XPro2 with the two shutter modes to see if there is a difference.

Why did they not choose a leaf shutter inside the lens?

My guess would be to keep the lenses as small and affordable as possible.

And perhaps because many users will not need them, and Fuji will most likely make these available as the system unfolds. I know that leaf shutters (though truly excellent in the X-100 series) are less useful to me than an electronic (silent) shutter, as I have in the X-E2. While I did use the leaf shutter and flash from time to time to fill in daylight, I would use HSS flash units and the focal plane shutter if this were my day job, or wait for the leaf shutter versions of the lenses to be released.

It looks like the physical dial shows an ISO 100 setting.

Sony...probably had leftovers from the pentax 645z fab...once they reach a certain price point three years after Sony has debuted them in the camera companies willing to pay a premium

You make it sound like Fuji just announced a camera using a Nikon D800 sensor.

Pentax isn't Nikon. They're no larger than Fuji's camera division (smaller, I believe). It makes no sense to think that Pentax could order a custom sensor, in a new untested format no less, while Fuji only has access to leftovers.

In fact, the evidence suggests the opposite. First of all, it seems Pentax actually did just release a camera using a D810 or D800E sensor. And Sony already builds several Fuji sensors with custom CFA's, and it sounds like they're getting customized microlenses for the GFX. Meanwhile, Pentax got access to the sensor for the 645Z no earlier (perhaps later) than Phase One did for the IQ250 and Hasselblad did for the H5D-50c - so there's no reason to doubt Fuji could've used it earlier as well if they'd wanted to.

I'm betting that what looks like the loss of ISO 100 in electronic shutter mode in the video is just something in the beta version of the camera software, then.

Most likely or could've been in DR200 mode maybe.

Pentax is no longer a company at all of course...it's just a brand of Ricoh now. Ricoh is a very large company in itself and is larger than Fujifilm when measured by number of employees though Fujifilm is more profitable.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujifilm

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricoh

Jan. 2014. Phase One announces the IQ250

March 2014. Hasselblad begins shipping the H5D-50c

April 2014. Ricoh announces Pentax 645Z.

Given the size of Ricoh - and how they dramatically undercut both Phase and Hasselblad with regard to price around the same time with this sensor - I would guess they put in a much larger order for this sensor. I'm not going to be surprised to see a mirrorless Pentax using this sensor sooner than later.

You guys should know by now that Taran thinks Sony makes all the decisions and has complete control over every company that uses their sensors.

I think the Hassy CVF50c back has this sensor in it as well.
